Patna (Bihar) [India], October 19 (ANI): Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Chief Chirag Paswan, expressing his unwavering loyalty to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, likened himself to "Hanuman" in his dedication to ensuring the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) victory in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Paswan highlighted the trust placed in him by PM Modi, citing the allocation of significant electoral seats to his party despite its limited parliamentary representation.
Speaking exclusively to ANI, he said, "I will work beyond my capabilities to ensure the victory of the NDA in the Bihar elections. PM Modi has a great deal of trust in me; because of this, he allocated five seats to my party, which has only one MP. This was a very significant gesture for me," emphasising his commitment to the NDA's success.
Reflecting on his party's journey within the NDA, Paswan dismissed any notions of discontent, expressing gratitude for the opportunities provided to his party.
"I have never been upset with the NDA; in fact, I feel blessed. In my lifetime, I have never seen any Mahagathbandhan party giving more seats to a smaller party, though I have seen the larger party give fewer seats. In 2024, our party was allotted five seats; now, in 2025, my party has been given 29 seats to contest elections. If after this I am upset, then who would be more ungrateful than me?" he added.
Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president, dismissed any rumours of a potential rift within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), saying that he has "always tried maintaining the dignity of the alliance", and confirming that he has "never had even the slightest bit of conflict with the Janata Dal (United)."
"I have always upheld the traditions that during negotiations, you know, I don't talk much to the media because it only creates confusion. Just to realise that even my silence was creating confusion, even my not speaking was creating an equal amount of controversy about me. But I always tried to maintain the dignity of the alliance. I have always believed in this. And I believe that talks related to alliance should be held within the alliance only", Paswan said in an exclusive interview with ANI.
The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) announced its first list of 14 candidates for the Bihar elections on October 14, and subsequently released its second list of 15 candidates on October 16.
The 2025 Bihar Elections will have the main contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan.
NDA includes BJP, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha. Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan led by Rashtriya Janata Dal includes Congress, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani's Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj has also staked claims on all 243 seats of the state.
Meanwhile, polling in the Bihar 2025 elections is scheduled to take place on November 6 and 11, respectively, while the results will be declared on November 14. (ANI)
