Anil Kapoor's film Tezaab, released in the year 1988, is one of the cult films of Hindi cinema. When this movie was released in theaters, it was well received. Madhuri Dixit was in the lead role with Anil Kapoor in this film. 37 years after acid release now an actor accuses Anil Kapoor and his brother Boney Kapoor of nepotism without naming them. The actor alleges that these two brothers together had snatched the lead role of the film from him. The actor making the allegations is none other than Aditya Pancholi.
Aditya Pancholi recently revealed that he was earlier cast in the lead role opposite Madhuri Dixit in the film Tezaab. Aditya wrote on his X account, "I was the first choice for acid (1988), with Madhuri Dixit accompanying me. Director N. Chandra, still active in the industry, can confirm. Unfortunately, an actor impressed the director with his older brother, who is still active in the industry, and I was dropped. The rest, as they say, is history. "
Aditya also reveals deep secrets of film industry and says problem isn't just nepotism. He wrote, "Lately I saw an actor speak on nepotism during the promotion of his new film. I say clean. Politics in film industry goes deeper than nepotism. Partisanship, manipulation and power games affect careers more than family."
After this post of Aditya, many users praised his honesty. Some speculated they're pointing at Anil Kapoor and his brother Boney Kapoor. One user wrote, "That's a very honest thing. People talk nepotism, but the real story is that power, influence, and stealth politics decide who gets the chance. Respect for telling the truth."
Another user wrote, "Are they talking about Anil Kapoor and his brother Boney Kapoor?" A third user recalled Aditya's early career, writing, "Many like you were sidelined. During school days I heard that Saathi was good film and you and Varsha ji were real faces of cinema. People used to say you and others were deliberately sidelined because some people felt unsafe. " N. Tezaab directed by Chandra is an iconic film, especially for its songs Ek Do Teen. The film took Madhuri Dixit's career to new heights and further cemented Anil Kapoor's position in Bollywood.
